COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- Texas A&M junior defensive back Jordan Peterson was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 football team, by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Peterson now becomes a candidate for the Academic All-America football team.

Peterson, from Lexington, Texas, carries over a 3.8 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in sport management at Texas A&M. Peterson is also a two-time academic All-Big 12 selection.

As a junior in 2008, Peterson has made 26 tackles and broken up two passes. He also has one interception that he returned 48 yards for a touchdown in A&M's win over New Mexico.

For his career, Peterson is a 17-game starter for the Aggies at safety and cornerback. Peterson has compiled 74 tackles, made four interceptions and broken up 14 other passes in three seasons with the Aggies.
