COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M freshman Bri Young was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-Central Region team and fellow freshman Beth West earned NSCAA/adidas High School All-America honors.

A defender from Castle Pines North, Colo., Young was listed as a member of the second team in addition to being selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team and the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. She finished the season with six goals and three assists while leading the Aggies to eight shutouts.

A native of Centennial, Colo., West earned All-America honors after leading Grandview High School to a 5A State Championship in May of 2008. The Parade All-American, Gatorade Colorado Player of the Year and Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post Player of the Year was also a three-time all-state selection.

In her freshman campaign at Texas A&M, West was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Rookie First Team and the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. The midfielder was third on the team with 18 points on five goals and eight assists.

Young and West led the Aggies to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship and to one of the best seasons in program history as the team fell in double overtime in the quarterfinals to the eventual National champions, North Carolina.
