COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M soccer team finished the 2008 season ranked seventh by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and SoccerTimes.com.
The Aggies jumped six spots from the last regular season poll on Nov. 10 in which they were ranked 13th.
A&M participated in its 14th-straight NCAA Tournament, advancing to the "Sweet 16" for the ninth time and making its fourth trip to the "Elite Eight".
The team compiled a record of 18-5-1 after dropping its NCAA Quarterfinal game in double overtime to the eventual National champions, North Carolina.
The Tar Heels were ranked No. 1 followed by Notre Dame, UCLA, Stanford, Portland and Florida State, respectively.
