COLLEGE STATION - Sophomore Denzel Bowles has left the Texas A&M basketball program and intends to transfer to a school closer to home, Head Coach Mark Turgeon said Thursday.
A 6-10 forward from Virginia Beach, Va., Bowles played in nine games this season, averaging 2.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
"Denzel wants to continue his career a little closer to home," Turgeon said. "He's a quality young man and we wish him all the best."
