COLLEGE STATION - Rob Childress and Jo Evans, head coaches of the defending Big 12 Champion Texas A&M baseball and softball teams, will be the featured speakers at the Brazos County A&M Club's second annual First Pitch Reception on Tuesday, January 27 at the Brazos Center in Bryan.
Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased online at www.bcamc.org or at the door. The event begins at 6 p.m., and the coaching staffs and players of both teams will be in attendance. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.
Evans' softball squad returns seven starters and nine letterwinners from a 2008 team that went 57-10, won the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles, and earned a runner-up finish at the Women's College World Series.
Childress' baseball team returns 15 letterwinners, four position starters and nine pitchers from a 2008 squad that went 46-19, won the Big 12 regular-season championship and claimed a second consecutive NCAA Regional crown for the first time in school history.
Softball's 25-game home slate begins on February 6, while baseball's 37-game home schedule opens on February 20. Season tickets for both baseball and softball are available now by calling 1-888-99-AGGIE or online at aggieathletics.com.
