FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, January 19, 2009

Rob Childress and Jo Evans, head coaches of the defending Big 12 Champion Texas A&M baseball and softball teams, will be the featured speakers at the Brazos County A&M Club's second annual First Pitch Reception on Tuesday, January 26 at the Brazos Center in Bryan.

Evans' softball squad returns seven starters and nine letterwinners from a 2008 team that went 57-10, won the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles, and earned a runner-up finish at the Women's College World Series.

Childress' baseball team returns 15 letterwinners, four position starters and nine pitchers from a 2008 squad that went 46-19, won the Big 12 regular-season championship and claimed a second consecutive NCAA Regional crown for the first time in school history.

Softball's 25-game home slate begins on February 6, while baseball's 37-game home schedule opens on February 20. Season tickets for both baseball and softball are available now by calling 1-888-99-AGGIE or online at aggieathletics.com.

All proceeds raised by the Brazos County A&M Club provide scholarships for future and current Texas A&M students from Brazos County. For more information on the club, the First Pitch Reception or to get involved, log on to www.bcamc.org.
