COLLEGE STATION - The fourth-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team will host eighth-ranked Kansas State on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Brazos County Expo Complex.
The Aggies (5-3) will be looking to put a stop to their current three-match losing streak. A&M has dropped home and road decisions to second-ranked Baylor and a road competition to No. 6 South Carolina in its last three times in the ring.
Kansas State (3-6) is coming off a 13-11 loss at Oklahoma State on Feb. 7. Three of the Wildcats' six losses have been by one ride or less with one of those losses coming as the result of a tiebreaker.
A&M holds a 4-2 advantage in the head-to-head series with Kansas State. The Aggies won the two teams' most recent meeting, a 10-9 decision in Manhattan, Kan., on Oct. 3. In that meeting, A&M's hunter seat group earned a 5-4 victory while the western crew came out on the positive end of a 5-5 tie.
Admission to Friday's competition is free of charge. The Brazos County Expo Complex is located at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan. The 12th Man Team Rewards Program will be there to stamp/scan its members and there will also be membership opportunities to join the Bit & Bridle Club, the equestrian team's support organization.
