COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Over 30 NFL coaches and scouts gathered at the McFerrin Athletic Center Wednesday for Texas A&M's annual NFL Pro Day workout.

"Of all the pro days around the country, Texas A&M's is the best. Everything is incredibly organized and structured and they don't deviate in anything they do," Chargers senior executive Randy Mueller said. "They have several functions surrounding the event and they take good care of us. That's why you always see so many people here."

Fourteen Aggies worked out for representatives of 29 NFL teams in preparation of April's NFL Draft. Thirteen members of the 2008 team participated including: Johnathan Batson, Michael Bennett, Justin Brantly, Arkeith Brown, Lorenzo Calloway, Alton Dixon, Amos Gbunblee, Mike Goodson, Danny Gorrer, Devin Gregg, Nick LaMantia, Stephen McGee and Cyril Obiozor. Also participating was Justin Warren who finished his Texas A&M career in 2006.

Several of the Aggies that participated went a long way toward improving their draft stock. Some notable performances on the day included Mike Goodson 4.43 40-yard dash time, which was over a tenth of a second faster than the 4.54 he posted at the NFL Combine in February.

On the 225-pound bench press, Amos Gbunblee doing 24.

In addition, players were tested in the 5-10-5 shuttle drill, three cone drill, vertical jump, broad jump, and the 60-yard shuttle.

Individual position drills were also administered. Quarterback Justin Brantly also performed an individual workout for scouts.

"Today is about the kids," Tampa Bay Buccaneer scout Reggie Cobb said. "We want to keep them comfortable and have them perform well. Coach Sherman's NFL experience really helps the kids as well. He has been there and he knows what it takes to make it in the NFL."

A couple notable scouts in attendance included "Mean" Joe Greene from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Alonzo Highsmith from the Green Bay Packers.

Several former A&M standouts that went on to successful careers in the NFL were also in attendance including Jacob Green, Geoff Hangartner and Taylor Whitley.
