COLLEGE STATION, Texas - A pair of road victories over ranked opponents moved the Texas A&M men's tennis team to No. 18 in the Campbell/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings released on Tuesday.
The Aggies' successful road swing through the Pacific Northwest produced a 6-1 win over then-No. 27 Boise State and a 4-3 victory over then-No. 22 Washington. The 2-0 weekend pushed A&M's season record to 5-4 and gives the Aggies momentum as they open their home schedule in earnest with a four-match homestand at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
A&M opens its homestand with No. 5 Ohio State on Friday, March 13 at 6 p.m. (CT) and No. 7 Illinois on Sunday, March 15 at noon (CT). Prior to the Ohio State match, A&M will honor sophomore Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) for their All-America achievement after reaching the NCAA Doubles Championship semifinals in 2008, the first Aggie tandem to do so in program history. The first 150 A&M students will receive a free pair of Crocs and admission price is $1.
