COLLEGE STATION, Texas -

The 18th-ranked Texas A&M softball team wraps up its nonconference schedule this weekend as the Aggies (18-9) travel to Boca Raton, Fla., for the Parent's Weekend Classic hosted by Florida Atlantic.

A&M faces Bethune-Cookman at 3 p.m. on Friday and host FAU at 7 p.m. The tournament continues on Saturday with the Aggies taking on Liberty at noon and Purdue at 3 p.m. A&M's final contest of the weekend is an early 8 a.m. game on Sunday against Rutgers.

Sophomore Holly Ridley (.346) and junior Alex Reynolds are two additional players hitting above .300. Ridley ties Villarreal with seven doubles and has a team-high seven home runs, 22 RBIs and a .741 slugging percentage. Reynolds has scored 22 runs.

Sophomore Rhi Kliesing posts a 1.73 ERA and is 12-5 with four shutouts. She has fanned 112 in 125.2 innings pitched.

RECAP
Texas A&M won a midweek game against Houston before going 4-1 at the Aggie Invitational to garner the tournament title. Freshman Taryn Broussard led the team hitting .563 on the week. She tallied nine hits, a double, a home run and seven RBIs. Four Aggies hit over .400 including freshman Macie Morrow (.400). Freshman Rebecca Arbino posted a 1.50 ERA and went 2-0. She threw her first two career shutouts with a career-best nine strikeouts against Kent State.

800 WINS
Head coach Jo Evans picked up her 800th career victory last Sunday against Louisiana Tech. She currently boasts an 800-452 record and is in her 24th year as a head coach.

AGGIE INJURIES
The Aggies' starting middle infield has been struck with injuries as of late. Villarreal, A&M's starting second baseman and Morrow, the Aggies' starting shortstop, were both injured last week. Villarreal suffered a bruised hip after a collision at first base against Houston (3/4) and is questionable for this weekend. Morrow hit a foul ball against Kent State that struck her in the face directly off the bat and is out of the line-up for an undetermined amount of time.

WHAT'S UP NEXT
The Aggies play host to Nebraska March 21-22 on the opening weekend of Big 12 play. First pitch on Saturday is at 2 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex. Sunday's game is slated to begin at noon.

SCOUTING BETHUNE-COOKMAN
The Lady Wildcats (6-17) have a midweek game against Kennesaw State on their home field in Daytona Beach, Fla., before traveling to Boca Raton for the FAU Parents' Weekend Classic. B-CU is 2-8 in its last 10 games. Ashton Hinds leads the team with a .333 batting average, 24 hits, four doubles and five stolen bases. Allison Garcia has a team-high two home runs and 10 RBIs and is also the Wildcats' ace in the circle with a 5.60 ERA and 53 K's. B-CU hits .236 as a team with a 5.82 ERA.

A&M meets Bethune-Cookman for the first time this weekend.

SCOUTING FLORIDA ATLANTIC
The Owls (13-12) host their fourth tournament of the year after going 2-3 at home last weekend. FAU is 4-6 in its last 10 contests and faces Liberty in a single game on Thursday before the tournament begins Friday. Caitlyn Bliss leads the team with a .388 average, 26 hits, six doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs. She is the only player hitting above .300. The Owls have four pitchers who have each seen about equal time, but Carrie Ann Potter was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week after she threw her second no-hitter of the season in FAU's 3-0 win over Towson last weekend. The pitching staff posts a 2.81 ERA, while the offense is hitting .236.

VERSUS THE OWLS
Texas A&M leads the all-time series 3-1 and last saw Florida Atlantic in two games in 2007. On March 17, the Owls shutout the Aggies, 4-0, but A&M came back for a 3-1 win on March 18. Reynolds led the team going 2-for-3. Morrow also tallied a hit.

SCOUTING LIBERTY
The Lady Flames (5-12) have picked up four of their five W's in their last 10 games and post a .195 team batting average and 3.70 ERA. Jenny Law has the highest batting average (.231) and most hits (12), while J'nae Jefferson provides the power with four doubles, three home runs and seven RBIs. Tiffani Smith has 50 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched as the Lady Flames' go-to pitcher. Liberty finishes a 14-game stint through Florida in Boca Raton this weekend.

VERSUS THE LADY FLAMES
Saturday marks the first meeting between the two teams.

SCOUTING PURDUE
The Boilermakers (11-5) look to extend a four-game winning streak this weekend after taking its last four games at the Buzz Classic in Woodstock, Ga. Pitcher Suzie Rzegocki received all-tournament team honors. Candace Curtis is one of three Purdue players batting above .300. In addition to her .340 average, Curtis has a team-high 17 hits. Liane Horiuchi (.326) has 11 runs, while Beth Cinadr (.300) has three home runs and eight RBIs. Purdue is hitting .233 with a 2.11 ERA and has gone 7-3 in its last 10 games.

VERSUS THE BOILERMAKERS
This is the first meeting between Purdue and Texas A&M, but the Aggies are 0-3 against Big Ten schools this season falling to Ohio State twice and Illinois.

SCOUTING RUTGERS
The Scarlet Knights (6-8) went 3-2 last weekend in Northridge, Calif. The team has a .213 batting average and 2.62 ERA. Amanda Heller leads the team with a .389 average, 14 hits, seven runs and three extra-base hits. Nicole Lindley leads the Rutgers pitching staff with a 1.88 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 44.2 innings pitched.

VERSUS THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
The Aggies lead the series 6-0 against Rutgers and took two games from the Scarlet Knights at the Aggie Classic in 2007. The 9-1 and 7-4 victories came on Feb. 16-17.
