AUSTIN - Just two days after winning the Thompson Invitational in Hawaii, the Texas A&M women's golf team begins play in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on Friday at the University of Texas Golf Club. The tournament continues through Sunday.

Joinging A&M in the field are Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Duke, Florida State, Furman, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Purdue, South Carolina, Tulsa, Central Florida, Chattanooga, Vanderbilt and host Texas.

"This tournment will be a great test for us," A&M Coach Trelle McCombs said. "The field is really strong and includes a couple of Big 12 teams, which will kind of show us where we are as we get ready for the conference championship in April."

Representing A&M will be senior Lauren Johnson, sophomore Ashley Freeman, sophomore Stephanie Smith and freshman Kaitlin Hovda. Johnson tied fror second in the tournament in Hawaii while Zwartynski tied for fourth. The Aggies rallied from a nine-stroke deficit to win by six strokes.
