COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M women's tennis team concludes a three-match home stand Sunday as the Aggies play host to the Oklahoma Sooners. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
The No. 36 Aggies are 6-6 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 Conference play after knocking off No. 73 Oklahoma State, 5-2, Friday in College Station. Oklahoma is 6-8 overall and still looking for its first Big 12 victory. The Sooners have lost three consecutive matches and dropped to 0-3 in league play after falling at No. 27 Texas, 5-2, on Friday.
In A&M's match against the Cowgirls, Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week Elzé Potgieter picked up her team-leading fifth consecutive win at the No. 1 singles position and improved to 3-0 in league play. She and doubles partner Sheri Olivier also improved to a team-best 8-2 in dual matches to help the Aggies sweep all three doubles matches.
Sophomore Morgan Frank, No. 113 in the most recent national singles rankings, leads A&M with an 8-4 singles record in dual matches, all at the No. 2 position. She also is 3-0 in Big 12 matches.
Christi Liles and Sheri Olivier also earned singles victories in the win against the Cowgirls.
The Sooners, playing their fourth consecutive road match, are led by Tara Eckel and Marie-Pier Huet, who are 8-2 at the No. 2 line in doubles and are riding a six-match winning streak. In singles, Ana-Maria Constantinescu improved to 10-2 at the No. 1 line with a win against the Longhorns' 96th-ranked Vanja Corovic. It was Constantinescu's second win against a nationally ranked individual this season. 


A&M owns a 17-4 lead in the all-time series against Oklahoma and has won the last 12 meetings. Last year the Aggies defeated the Sooners, 6-1, in Norman. The Sooners have not topped the Aggies since 1999.
