IRVING, Texas - Three Texas A&M men's tennis players made the grade and netted 2009 Academic All-Big 12 Conference Men's Tennis Team honors by the league office on Friday.

Senior All-American Conor Pollock (San Antonio, Texas) led the way with his third consecutive first-team appearance with an impressive 3.669 grade-point average majoring in finance in the prestigious Mays Business School on campus. The two-time All-Big 12 singles selection and State Farm Scholar-Athlete will graduate in May.

Additionally, sophomore All-American Wil Spencer (Ponce de Leon, Fla.) were honored on the second team for the first time of their careers. Krajicek holds a 3.111 GPA in general studies and Spencer a 3.13 GPA in business. The Aggie trio, one of the top 1, 2, 3 singles lineups in the nation, have compiled a combined 40 dual-match victories for the 13th-ranked Aggies who are 14-7 overall this season.

Nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices, the men's tennis academic all-league squad consisted of 17 first-team members combined with six on the second team. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
