A&M is in the midst of a 13-game homestand and is coming off an impressive 4-0 week that saw the Aggies defeat No. 1 Rice in Houston and sweep Nebraska in College Station. The Aggie pitching staff has a 4.22 ERA in '09, has punched out 387 hitters and has held opponents to a .249 batting average.

The Panthers sit in fourth place in the western division of the SWAC at 8-12 and are coming off a split with Grambling at home this past weekend. Prairie View, which has lost four of its last six games, is hitting .297 as a team with 70 stolen bases and sports a 6.83 ERA.

Wednesday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Aggies and Panthers on the baseball diamond. Prairie View has played one other Big 12 team this year, falling 14-1 at Baylor on April 1.

The game also marks the start of the annual "Prostate Cancer Awareness Weekend" at Olsen Field. On Saturday, the 1959 team will hold its 50-year reunion, while Sunday will feature the 1989 squad's 20-year reunion.
