COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M's NCAA first round tennis match against SMU has been set for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 9 at the Baylor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas, Baylor officials announced today.

The No. 4 seed Lady Bears and Texas Arlington open first-round action at 11 a.m. at the four-team site.

The first-round winners will play Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m. for the right to advance to the Round of 16 to be played at Texas A&M's George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station beginning May 15.

Saturday, May 9
No. 4 Baylor (24-4) vs. UT Arlington (18-6), 11 a.m.
No. 23 SMU (27-2) vs. No. 39 Texas A&M (14-10), 2 p.m.

Sunday, May 10
First round winners, 2 p.m.

A&M (14-10) is making its 10th consecutive and 15th overall appearance in the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships. Last year, the Aggies defeated Washington, 4-1, in the first round to advance to the second round for the sixth straight year. The Aggies then fell to host Stanford, 4-1.

SMU (27-2) enters the NCAAs riding a program-best 17-match winning streak. The Mustangs won both the Conference USA regular-season and tournament championships. It marked SMU's first tournament title in school history.

SMU holds a 14-11 lead in the all-time series against former Southwest Conference-foe A&M. The Aggies, who have won the last five meetings against the Mustangs, posted a 4-1 NCAA second-round victory when the teams last met in 2004.
