OKLAHOMA CITY - Three members of the Texas A&M baseball team were named to the 2009 All-Big 12 squads, the league announced Tuesday.

Brodie Greene (infielder) and Brooks Raley (utility) were named to the first team, while Joe Patterson (designated hitter) earned second-team accolades. The official All-Big 12 awards are selected by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Greene, a junior from Bullard, led the Aggies with a .352 average during the regular season with 11 home runs, 33 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and a team-best 68 hits. As A&M's starting second baseman for a majority of the season, Greene rebounded from a mid-season injury to finish the year as one of the hottest players in the league, concluding Big 12 play with a .375 average.

Raley, from Uvalde, is one of the nation's top two-way players. The sophomore was A&M's Friday-night starter all season long, and led the squad with a 7-2 record, 3.09 ERA and a .216 opponent average. Raley punched out 92 batters during the regular season and ranks among the national leaders in several categories. He also hit in the lineup and played the outfield, compiling a .312 batting average over 49 games, leading the team in four offensive categories and topping the Big 12 with 23 stolen bases.

Patterson, a junior from Tulsa, carries a 10-game hit streak into this week's Big 12 Championship. In just 118 at-bats, Patterson ranks second on the team with 43 RBIs and has smashed 10 home runs, seven of which have come in the last few weeks. He hit .415 in league play with 24 RBIs, both team highs, as the team's primary designated hitter.

Five Aggies--Luke Anders, Kyle Colligan, Kevin Gonzalez, Ross Hales and Alex Wilson--earned honorable mention all-conference recognition.

J.T. Wise (Oklahoma) and A.J. Morris (Kansas State) were named Big 12 Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively. Kansas' David Narodowski was named the top newcomer, while Garrett Buechele (Oklahoma) was the Freshman of the Year. Brad Hill of Kansas State earned Coach of the Year accolades.

A&M opens play in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship on Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Missouri. Fans can tune in to the game on WTAW-AM 1620 or worldwide free of charge on radioaggieland.com and aggieathletics.com.
