COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M senior Bronson Burgoon and sophomore Conrad Shindler have been named PING All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Burgoon (The Woodlands, Texas) made the second-team and Shindler (Coppell, Texas) was selected honorable mention. Junior Andrea Pavan (Rome, Italy) joined Burgoon on the PING All-Region Team. The last time two A&M players made All-American was in 1984 when Philip Parkin earned first-team honors and Jorge Coghlan was an honorable mention pick. This is the fourth straight year an Aggie golfer has been named to an All-America team.

A third-team All-America pick in 2007, Burgoon led the Aggies to their first NCAA championship with a team-best 71.97 stroke average. He placed in the top 25 in 10 of 12 tournaments, including five top-fives. He won the Adams Cup of Newport and placed second at the NCAA West Regional and the Callaway Match Play Qualifier.

Burgoon recorded 20 rounds of par or better and set a school record with an 8-under 64 at the NCAA West Regional. He also set a school record with a 72.76 career scoring average and shot par or better a record 66 times. Burgoon won all three of his matches at the NCAA Championship, including the finals when he clinched the title for the Aggies with a dramatic birdie on the 18th hole.

Shindler posted a 74.56 stroke average and had four top-20 finishes, including a tie for 17th at the Adams Cup and a tie for 13th at the NCAA Championship, the highest individual finish by an Aggie since Danny Briggs placed eighth in 1982.

Pavan earned all-region honors for the second straight year after ranking second on the team with a 73.23 stroke average. He had eight top-25 finishes with four top 10s and placed second behind Burgoon at the Adams Cup.

First-team All-Americans were Jorge Campillo of Indiana, Rickie Fowler and Morgan Hoffmann of Oklahoma State, Southern California's Matthew Giles, Matt Hill of NC State, Florida's Billy Horschel, Kyle Stanley of Clemson, Washington's Nick Taylor, Cameron Tringale of Georgia Tech and Marquette's Mike Van Sickle.

Joining Burgoon on the second team were Blayne Barber of UCF, Bud Cauley of Alabama, UCLA's Erik Flores, Georgia's Brian Harman, Russell Henley and Hudson Swafford, Illinois' Scott Langley, John Peterson of LSU and Stanford's Steve Ziegler.

Third-team honorees were Coastal Carolina's Zack Byrd, Harris English of Georgia, Wichita State's Dustin Garza, Andrew Landry of Arkansas, Washington's Richard Lee and Darren Wallace, Oklahoma State's Trent Leon, Steve Saunders of New Mexico and Virginia Tech's Drew Weaver.

A total of 33 golfers were named honorable mention All-America. Other Big 12 players selected were Pat Grady and Derek Tolan of Colorado, Lance Lopez of Texas, Robert Streb of Kansas State and Kevin Tway of Oklahoma State.
