LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Texas A&M's Andrea Pavan and Bronson Burgoon finished in the top 16 in medal play on Thursday to advance to match play at the 107th Western Amateur Championship at Conway Lakes Golf Club.
The first two rounds of match play are Friday, followed by the semifinals and championship match Saturday.
Pavan tied for ninth with a one-under total of 69-68-72-74=283, while Burgoon tied for 12th at 71-73-68-73=285. Chen-Tsung Pan of Bradenton, Fla., captured medalist honors with scores of 74-70-67-69=280.
A&M freshman-to-be Cameron Peck finished 18th at 73-71-74-69=287 and did not make the cut.
