8/13 Interview with Coach Sherman
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M football team held a spirited two-hour workout in shorts and shoulder pads on a sunny Thursday morning at the Coolidge Practice Fields.
"I thought we had a good day today," head coach Mike Sherman said. "We took a step forward on both sides of the ball and in special teams, so I was pleased."
Sherman was asked about the play of his freshman receiving corps, which got some reps on Thursday with the first group.
"Well, they did a nice job in the couple days previous," Sherman said. "We'll be moving guys up and down consistently, and they did a good job with the second group, so we moved them up to the first group to see what they can do. I thought they did well. Each one of them has made plays and they all catch the ball, which is nice."
Following lunch, the Aggies checked into an on-campus dorm and will remain there for the next week. The team will go through meetings for the rest of the day before taking the field Friday for the first time in full pads. Practice is scheduled for 8:25 a.m.
Fans wishing to attend practice that do not have the proper University parking permit are reminded to park in either the University Center Parking Garage across from Rudder Tower or the West Campus Parking Garage facing the press box side of Kyle Field.
