Blair To Be Featured On KBTX Names & Faces Thursday

Texas A&M women's basketball head coach Gary Blair will be featured in a special segment of Names & Faces with Brenda Sims to be aired locally on Thursday, August 20 at noon (CT) on KBTX News Channel

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M women's basketball head coach Gary Blair will be featured in a special segment of Names & Faces with Brenda Sims to be aired locally on Thursday, August 20 at noon (CT) on KBTX News Channel 3.

Blair, who enters his seventh season with the Aggies, is one of the most active and involved coaches in the Bryan-College Station community. He is a frequent and charismatic speaker at the local Rotary Club as well as other civic and student organizations throughout the year. He annually hosts the Gary Blair Celebrity Golf Classic which benefits Special Olympics Texas.

Names & Faces is aired on the first and third Thursday every month on KBTX and introduces viewers to new friends and neighbors in the community who have worked to make life better in the Brazos Valley. The show can also be viewed online after the original air date at: www.kbtx.com/namesandfaces.

One of the winningest active Division I coaches in the women's game today, Blair has guided the Aggies to immeasurable heights over the last four years including a program-best No. 3 national ranking, back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances and a pair of No. 2 seeds in the NCAA Tournament.

A&M returns 10 letterwinners from its 2009 NCAA Sweet 16 squad including Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Year Tanisha Smith, Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection Sydney Carter and point guard Sydney Colson along with five heralded newcomers that include National Junior College Player of the Year Danielle Adams.
