COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Brianna Carillo, the daughter of Vinny and Diane Carillo, attended the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Connecticut, and will join the Texas A&M equestrian team as a member of the hunter seat squad associate head coach and hunter seat coach Linzy Woolf announced.
Carillo has trained with Linda Langmeier and has been in the top ribbons in the Children's/Adult Jumpers at many shows including HITS Saugerties, Saratoga, Wellington Winter Equestrian Festival, Vermont Summer Festival and the Hampton Classic. She has also qualified for the Connecticut Hunter Jumper Association Medal finals in 2008. At the 2008 New England Equitation Medal finals, she placed 26th out of 256 competitors. This past April, she qualified for Zone 1 Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Regionals.
"Bri is going to enhance our already strong freshmen group of riders," Woolf said. "I believe she will adapt to the college format of our sport very easily since she is coming from a great team environment at Ethel Walker."
