ALBUQUERQUE - The Texas A&M women's golf team will compete in the 30th Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Intercollegiate Saturday and Sunday at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.
The Aggies won the rain-shortened Texas A&M Mo Morial by seven strokes in last week's season opener. Graduate student Julia Boland and freshman Sarah Beth Davis shared the individual title.
Joining A&M in the 18-team field will be host New Mexico, Arkansas, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Colorado, Colorado State, Indiana, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Francisco, TCU, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming.
Joining Boland and Davis in the lineup will be junior Ashley Freeman. Freshman Aly Smith will play as an individual.
"The girls have been working hard on the things that we didn't get done during the Mo," A&M Coach Trelle McCombs said. "We feel really good about going into this weekend. I'm looking forward to playing 54 holes and seeing what we can do."
