ALBUQUERQUE - Senior Ashley Freeman closed with an even-par 73 on Sunday to lead Texas A&M to 11th place at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.
Pepperdine won the 18-team event with a 10-under 859. Host New Mexico was seven strokes back in second at 866. A&M had a 303-303-298=904 total.
Oregon's Kendra Little captured individual honors with a 12-under 71-68-68=207.
A&M junior Julia Boland tied for 35th (73-76-77=226), freshman Sarah Beth Davis tied for 62nd (78-79-74=231) and freshman Chloe Garner placed 90th (80-80-78=238). Freshman Aly Smith, playing as an individual, tied for 84th (82-77-78=237).
The Aggies return to action at the Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 9-11 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
