COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M soccer player Whitney Hooper was named TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Player of the Week, the website announced Monday.
Hooper was also listed on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's College Soccer Team of the Week after she scored three goals in a pair of Aggie wins, including two goals in A&M's 3-1 upset of previously unbeaten and second-ranked Portland.
The junior from Houston, Texas, netted two game winners, her second coming in a 4-0 shutout of Sam Houston State. Hooper led the Aggies in almost every offensive category on the weekend.
The speedy forward now leads A&M with four goals, one assist and nine points this season.
Hooper and the Aggies begin Big 12 play on the road this weekend traveling to Baylor on Friday and Oklahoma on Sunday.
