WACO, Texas - Texas A&M junior Kayvon Karimi (Dallas, Texas) moved on to the semifinals in the singles B draw at the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate Invitational held Saturday afternoon at the Baylor Tennis Center.

Karimi defeated Matheus Pereira of Wichita State, 6-1, 6-1, in the round of 16 and later Christian Saravia of Rice, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, in the quarterfinals. He will take on Carlin Murray of Louisiana-Lafayette in the semifinals tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. (CT). The winner will face either Erio West of Oklahoma State or Jonathon Obrist of Wichita State in Sunday's championship match.

In other singles action, freshman Alberto Bautista (McAllen, Texas) fell to top-ranked and top-seeded Oleksandr Nedovyesov of Oklahoma State, 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 16 in the top singles draw.
