COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 14 Texas A&M soccer team travels to Iowa State Friday for a 7 p.m. match against the Cyclones before going on the road to Nebraska for its final road game of the regular season. A&M kicks off at 1 p.m. against the Huskers on Sunday.
The Aggies (9-4-1, 3-1-1 Big 12) are unbeaten in their last four games and have climbed to third in the Big 12 standings. Led by junior Emily Peterson and Cydne Currie as the Aggies take on Texas.
THE BIG 12 ON THE ROAD
Big 12 soccer teams have not fared well on the road, but Texas A&M leads all programs with two road wins. Four schools have managed just one victory on their opponent's pitch (Baylor, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas), while five have yet to win an away conference game (Kansas, Iowa State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech).
SKELTON BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Skelton was selected as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after she netted two game-impacting goals in each of the Aggie soccer team's wins last weekend. Her first career game-winner lifted A&M to a 1-0 shutout of Oklahoma State and her second was the equalizer that took the Aggies to a 2-1 overtime victory against Loyola.
PETERSON A FINALIST FOR LOWE'S SENIOR CLASS AWARD
Peterson was selected as one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and is on a ballot for a nationwide vote concluding November 13. Fans can vote for Peterson daily by going to http://www.seniorclassaward.com/vote/womens_soccer_2009/ or by texting W9 to 74567.

SCOUTING IOWA STATE
The Cyclones are 10th in the Big 12 and fell in their last two matches, but did defeat Oklahoma State, 2-1 earlier this month. The team has played nearly each of its opponents closely with six of its matches being won or lost by one goal. Five of ISU's games have gone into overtime, where the squad is 1-0-4. Woelfel is the only player with double-digit points, but Casey Bothwell and Mary Kate McLaughlin add three goals each. Wendy Dillinger is in her second season as head coach and comes into 2009 after Iowa State posted a 5-12-2 record last year, without a single win in the Big 12.
VERSUS THE CYCLONES
Texas A&M holds a 13-1-2 record all-time against the Cyclones and are unbeaten against the team in the last four matches. A&M is 5-0 in Ames, Iowa, and outscored Iowa State 10-0 there. The last two games at the ISU Soccer Complex ended 1-0 in favor of A&M. Last year the Aggies blanked ISU, 2-0, with goals from Gnatzig and West, while Becca Herrera added an assist.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
The Huskers (8-2-4, 2-1-2 Big 12) are riding a four-match unbeaten streak and are in fifth place in the conference. Their last win came against Oklahoma, 5-2, as freshman Morgan Marlborough produced her second hat trick of the season. She is Nebraska's single-season record holder for goals with 19 and is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the same category. Marlborough has 42 points this season, but is not the only scoring threat as Molly Thomas (6G, 5A) adds 17 points followed by two Huskers with four goals each. Nebraska leads the Big 12 in shots (329), goals (50), points (142) and assists (42). John Walker is in his 16th year at the helm of the program and entered the 2009 season with a 225-86-17 career record.
VERSUS THE HUSKERS
Nebraska leads the all-time series 13-10, but Texas A&M has gotten the best of the Huskers in recent years, winning the last six matches between the two teams. The Aggies have also taken the last three straight in Lincoln, Neb., including a 4-1 victory in 2007. Last season, Hooper scored two second-half goals on just two shots to give A&M a 2-0 shutout. West and Gnatzig provided assists.
IN THE BIG 12
In conference games only, Texas A&M has the most goals with 12, goals per game with 2.40, and assists per game with 1.80. The Aggies are second with 104 shots, nine assists, 33 points and 104 shots. Shipley has the second-most assists in the league with seven.
