The Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team will open its 2009-10 season against a trio of rivals at the Southwest Collegiate Plunge on Friday and Saturday at the Mansfield ISD Aquatic Center. The meet starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The Aggies, who placed 12th as a team at the 2009 NCAA Championships, will face Big 12 foes Texas and Missouri, as well as old Southwest Conference rival SMU at the two-day championship-style meet.

"It's a great opportunity to open the season against some very strong teams, and teams that we are very familiar with," Aggie head coach Jay Holmes said. "I think it will be a great venue for a college swimming and diving meet, and I know our team is excited to open the season against Texas, Missouri and SMU."

The Aggies return seven All-Americans from last year's NCAA squad, including seniors Jason Bergstrom, Casey Strange, junior Boris Loncaric and Balazs Makany and sophomores Cam McLean and Grant Nel. A&M has finished in the top 25 at the NCAA Championships for 14 consecutive years, which is a record for any sport at Texas A&M.
