DALLAS - Texas A&M freshman Cameron Peck shared the individual lead and the No. 9-ranked Aggies were one stroke back at the Baylor Intercollegiate Monday when play was stopped midway through the second round because of heavy rain.
The round is scheduled to resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., followed immediately by the final round at Royal Oaks Country Club.
The defending champion Aggies (+6) trail leader Iowa (+5) . New Mexico (+10) is in third, followed by No. 4 Texas (+13), SMU (+14), host Baylor (+15), Tulsa (+17), Arkansas (+18), Oklahoma (+21), Lamar (+22), BYU (+24) and Texas-San Antonio (+30).
"It was extreme tough out there today but our team was as tough as the conditions," A&M Coach J.T. Higgins said. "We finished strong in a downpour in the morning round when the course was at its toughest. We really battled and had great effort from top to bottom. We're in great position going into tomorrow."
Peck opened with an even-par 71 in Monday's morning's round and was one-under through six holes in the afternoon. He shared the lead at one-under with Baylor's Joakim Mikkelsen and Iowa's Vince India.
A&M junior Andrea Pavan is tied for ninth (70-+3=+2), and sophomore Geoff Shaw (73-+3=+5) and junior Nacho Elvira (74-+2=+5) are tied for 28th.
