COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M (18-10) is returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005 and will open against Arizona (19-10) on Friday in Baton Rouge, La.
First serve is slated for 5 p.m. at the Maravich Center on the LSU campus.
The winner between A&M, an at-large team from the Big 12 Conference, and Arizona, an at-large team from the Pac-10, will meet the winner of No. 15 seed LSU (24-6) and Tulane (18-9) in the second round of the Omaha Regional on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. also in Baton Rouge.
Five other teams representing the Big 12 also were selected to the 64-team tournament field: No. 2 seed Texas, No. 7 seed Iowa State, No. 10 seed Nebraska, Baylor and Oklahoma. Texas, Iowa State, Nebraska and Texas A&M were all placed in the Omaha Regional.
