COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M soccer team finished the 2009 season ranked 13th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and by SoccerTimes.com.

From the last regular season poll on Nov. 9, the Aggies jumped 10 places in the SoccerTimes.com Top 25 and nine spots in the NSCAA National Rankings.

A&M participated in its 15th straight NCAA Tournament and advanced to the round of 16 for the 10th time in program history. The Aggies ended their season in Tallahassee, Fla., after falling 2-1 in double overtime against Florida State.

The team compiled an overall record of 15-7-3 and a 6-2-2 mark in Big 12 play. Five Aggies earned All-Big 12 honors (Emily Peterson, Emily Peterson was the winner of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for women's soccer.

The back-to-back national champion North Carolina took the top spot in the rankings followed by Stanford, UCLA, Notre Dame, Portland, Florida State, Boston College, Wake Forest, South Carolina and Santa Clara. Ranked 11th by the NSCAA was Maryland and Virginia Tech came in 12th before Texas A&M at No. 13.

The Aggies were the only Big 12 program ranked in the top 25.
