Orlando, Florida - Presentation of the inaugural awarding of The Bowerman, recognizing the top collegiate athletes in track and field for the 2009 season, will be broadcast live on Flotrack.org during Wednesday evening's festivities from the JW Marriott Grande Lakes.
Texas A&M sprinter Porscha Lucas is one of three female finalist for The Bowerman, along with two other Big 12 athletes: Jenny Barringer of Colorado and Destinee Hooker of Texas. Men's finalist include Oregon's duo of Ashton Eaton and Galen Rupp along with Oklahoma State's German Fernandez.
The ceremonies are part of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) annual convention. Live internet coverage of the presentation will start at 6 p.m. (Central) and will be followed by a Hall of Fame induction at 8 p.m.

The Bowerman is named in honor of track and field pioneer Bill Bowerman, who served the sport of track and field in numerous ways, including his leadership in the USTFCCCA's predecessor organization, the National Collegiate Track Coaches Association, and his contributions to NCAA track and field and the running community as a whole.
