SHREVEPORT, La. - The Texas A&M football team reported to Shreveport on Wednesday to begin preparations for the 2009 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, going through a 90-minute workout in shorts and helmets under overcast skies and drizzle at Independence Stadium.

"It's good to get everyone here in Shreveport after a couple of days off," head coach Mike Sherman said. "This bowl game is a reward to these guys. From last January to the last ball game, they've worked really hard. I've asked a lot of them and they've responded. Coming to Shreveport is really a reward for all the hard work they've put in this season. We're excited to be here."

All but one of the Aggies were in attendance at the practice, as junior Terrence McCoy experienced travel difficulties and was expected to arrive at the team hotel later in the evening.

A&M will enjoy a team meal out in Shreveport tonight and will resume bowl preparations at Independence Stadium on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. before attending a welcome party at Barksdale Air Force Base later that afternoon.

The Aggies will face the Georgia Bulldogs in the Independence Bowl on Monday at 4 p.m. in a game televised nationally by ESPN2.
