COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M senior right side hitter Jennifer Banse has been named to CVU.com's "Top Performer" list, College Volleyball Update announced today.

Banse received the honor after leading the Aggies to NCAA first and second-round victories against No. 19 Arizona and No. 18 LSU last weekend in Baton Rouge, La. The San Antonio native posted the first 20-plus kill performance of her career with 23 in the 3-1 victory against Arizona in the first round on Friday. Banse again reached the 20-kill mark in the following match, tallying 20 in A&M's stunning 3-2 upset over No. 15-seed LSU on Saturday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

In addition, Banse hit .340 and .348 in the respective matches. The Churchill High School product also had 20 digs against Arizona to post the first 20-kill, 20-dig performance of her career, as well as the only 20-20 match by an Aggie this season.

Banse, who last week was named to the All-Big 12 first team, averaged 4.78 kills per set while hitting.344 In the two NCAA matches,. She also averaged 3.33 digs and 4.89 points per set to help direct the Aggies to their first Sweet Sixteen appearance since 2003.

For the season, Banse is hitting .272 and averaging 3.40 kills, 2.96 digs and 3.77 points per set.

Up next for Banse and the Aggies (20-10) is a meeting against rival and No. 2 seed Texas on Friday in the semifinals of the Omaha Regional. First serve is at 4:30 p.m. at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb.
