Texas A&M senior diver Eric Sehn earned a spot at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with a runner-up finish on the one-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone D Diving Qualifier on Friday at the University of Missouri Aquatic Center.
The Aggie men's swimming and diving team, which will be seeking its 14th straight top 25 NCAA finish, has now qualified eight competitors to the Championships -- seven swimmers and one diver. Texas A&M will host the 2009 NCAA Men's Championships March 26-28 at the Student Recreation Natatorium.
Sehn placed second behind Texas' Drew Livingston with a 12-dive score of 727.90 and paced a 2-3-4 finish for the Aggie diving crew. Freshman Cam McLean was third with a score of 709.65 and fellow freshman Henry Stevens placed 13th with a score of 528.05.
Sehn, an 11-time Big 12 diving champion, will be making his fourth trip to the NCAA Championships. Sehn is already a nine-time All-American and has scored a school-record 113 points at his three previous NCAA meets.
The Zone D Qualifier continues with the men's three-meter on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and the platform on Sunday at 12:30p.m.
