COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M junior Kristin Arnold and freshman Bri Young participated in the U-23 Women's National Team (WNT) camp at the Nike World Headquarters outside of Portland, Ore., last week.
Arnold is a six-foot goalkeeper from Centennial, Colo., who started three games in goal before sustaining a knee injury against North Carolina that kept her out of the remaining 2008 season. Arnold was selected to the Preseason All-Big 12 team, the MAC's Herman Trophy Watch List and is also a four-time player of the week.
A native of Castle Pines North, Colo., Young received numerous awards from the Big 12, the NSCAA, Soccer America and Soccer Buzz last season. Highlighting the honors were Soccer Buzz All-American third team, Freshman All-American first team and Soccer America All-Freshman first team honors. Young also played for the U-20 WNT in Spain earlier this year.
Sophomore Alyssa Mautz was another Aggie soccer player that joined the U.S. playing for the U-20 WNT at the 2008 FIFA U-20 World Cup in November.
