Jamie McCoy was named the first-team tight end, while Von Miller earned first-team accolades on the defensive line. Jordan Pugh and Michael Shumard earned second-team honors at wide receiver, safety and on the offensive line respectively.
McCoy, a senior from Midland, earned first-team honors coming off an impressive debut season at tight end in which he caught 43 passes for 500 yards and five touchdowns.
Miller was tabbed a first-team selection after leading the Aggies in sacks (3.5) and notching 44 tackles a year ago. The junior from DeSoto is coming off a stellar spring in which he applied a tremendous amount of pressure from his new hybrid linebacker/defensive end position.
Fuller earned his second-team nomination after catching 50 passes for 630 yards and a school-record nine touchdowns last season. The sophomore from McKinney earned Freshman All-American honors last season on his way to one of the most prolific seasons for a receiver in Texas A&M history.
Pugh's nomination earns him a spot on the team for the second year in a row. The veteran anchor of the Aggies' secondary logged 45 tackles a year ago including four tackles for loss while also breaking up four passes. The senior from Plano already has 24 career starts under his belt and will be counted on to lead a young but talented secondary.
Shumard, a senior from Belton, started all 12 games on the Aggies' offensive front in 2008. The veteran lineman was counted on for his leadership and toughness on a young unit that cleared the way for the Aggie offense to average 341 yards of total offense per game. Shumard is known as a very versatile blocker who has the ability to play either guard or tackle.
