DENVER - Texas A&M's Andrea Pavan helped Team Europe to a 13-11 victory against Team USA on Friday in the Palmer Cup at Cherry Hills Country Club.
Pavan, who helped the Aggies win the NCAA championship last week, posted a 2-1-1 record in the Ryder Cup-style competition.
In Thursday's four-ball match, Pavan teamed with fellow Italian Leonardo Motta for a 2 up victory against Mike Van Sickle (Marquette) and Steve Ziegler (Stanford). Ziegler bounced back to defeat Pavan 2 and 1 in singles. Pavan and Motta captured another point in Friday's alternate shot match with a 3 and 2 victory against Trent Leon (Oklahoma State) and Adam Mitchell (Georgia). Pavan halved the final singles match against Erik Flores (UCLA).
Team Europe has won two straight Palmer Cups and four of the last six. The overall series is tied, 6-1-1.
