
Aggies Well Represented on UIL All-Century Ballots

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Many of Texas A&M's most popular athletes from the state of Texas are listed on the ballots for the University Interscholastic League's (UIL) all-century teams for volleyball and football.
The UIL, which governs high school athletics in Texas, is celebrating its centennial this academic year by recognizing the top athletes to ever play high school athletics in the UIL. Voting is currently open for the all-century teams for volleyball and football at http://www.uil100.org/vote.php.
Aggie three-time Olympian Stacy Sykora (Burleson, Texas), two-time All-American Melissa Munsch (Columbus, Texas) and current A&M senior outside hitter Mary Batis (San Antonio, Texas) are three of several Aggies on the ballot for the 20-member Volleyball All-Century Team.
Many storied A&M greats are on the ballot for the Football All-Century Team, which will consist of a total of 24 players representing every position. Included on the ballot is current senior offensive lineman Lee Grimes (Brownwood, Texas), as well as former A&M defensive back standout and current Aggie football radio color commentator Dave Elmendorf (Houston, Texas).
Voting for the Volleyball All-Century Team is now open through Oct. 31. Voting for the Football All-Century Team is open through Nov. 7. Write-in candidates are allowed.
Voting for the all-century teams for girls and boys basketball will open in October, and voting for the track and field and baseball all-century teams will begin in February at http://www.uil100.org/vote.php.
