Seats On Saturday's Flyover Plane Up For Auction

Want to be a member of the crew on a B-25 as it makes a fly-by over Kyle Field prior to the Aggies' game with the University of Alabama-Birmingham Saturday (Sept. 26) evening? You can -- if you are the high bidder for one of the four available seats on the vintage bomber of World War II fame. Auction of the seats on the Lone Star Flyover is under way at Aggie Athletics Auctions. Bidding for each of three available standard seats start at $1,000 and the seat in the plane's nose starts at $1,500. The auction for these seats ends at noon on Friday.
The Lone Star Flyover flight begins and ends at Easterwood Field.
The WWII bomber is owned and operated by the Galveston-based Lone Star Flight Museum, for which Larry Gregory, a 1989 Texas A&M graduate, serves as president. Gregory offered to provide the B-25 flyover after athletic officials received late notice of the cancellation of a planned military flyover.
The Lone Star Flight Museum's B-25 is the only aircraft flying in the colors of the WWII-famed Doolittle Raiders, according to the museum's website. Funds raised through the auction will be used to offset Lone Star Flyover operating expenses.
