CARSON, Calif. - Texas A&M juniors Kristin Arnold and Alyssa Mautz were two of 24 players called in for the first U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team training camp of 2010 from Jan. 13-20 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
The camp overlaps with the U.S. U-18 WNT training camp on the front end and with the U.S. WNT training camp on the back end. Arnold and Mautz were two of 11 college juniors invited to the camp.
As part of the training, the two Aggies play a pair of games against the senior South Korean Women's National Team, with is training in Southern California for three weeks. The U-23 WNT faces the Koreans on Saturday, Jan. 16 and on Monday, Jan. 18. Both games are at 3 p.m. at the Home Depot Center.
Arnold, a goalkeeper from Centennial, Colo., holds a 0.95 goals against average and a .788 save percentage for her career. She played for the U.S. U-23 WNT in Northern Ireland last year after attending a U-23 WNT training camp with A&M teammate Bri Young. She has also played with the U.S. U-20 WNT.
Mautz, a midfielder/forward from O'Fallen, Mo., transferred to Texas A&M as a sophomore and has scored nine goals and added five assists in her two years in an Aggie uniform. She was a member of the U.S. U-20 WNT at the 2008 FIFA U-20 World Cup and played with the team in England.
