COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The third-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team opens the spring season and looks to extend a 20-show home win streak on Saturday when the Aggies host Delaware State at the Brazos County Expo Complex in Bryan. The competition begins at 11 a.m. and admission is free.

A&M (5-2) enters the weekend winners of four straight shows, and boasts its highest ranking of the year at No. 3. The Aggie hunter seat squad has won four in a row, outscoring their opponents 32-11 in that stretch. The western squad, meanwhile, is 5-2 on the season and is unbeaten at home in its last 11 shows dating back to the fall of 2007.

"We are excited to get back in the arena," head coach Tana McKay said. "We really built up some momentum at the end of the fall season and are looking forward to making a run at another national championship this spring."

Saturday will mark the first full-squad meeting between the Hornets (0-5) and Aggies. The only other time the schools went head-to-head in the competition arena was when the A&M hunter seat squad downed DSU, 7-1, in last April's quarterfinals of the Varsity Equestrian National Championships in Waco.

Several activities are planned for fans attending the competition, including pony pictures for the kids. In addition, the team will be collecting donations for Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch. The 3,000-seat Expo Complex is located at 5827 Leonard Road in Bryan.
