MELBOURNE, Australia - Texas A&M senior Julia Boland will be among the 13 amateurs competing in the Handa Australian Open beginning on Thursday at The Commonwealth Golf Club.
Boland, who has won three college tournaments this season for the Aggies, is the No. 9-ranked amateur in the world by Golfweek. She is a native of Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia.
The 72-hole tournament continues through Sunday. The field will be cut to the top 65 players and ties after Friday's second round. Click here for live scoring.
The field includes three of the world's top 10 professionals, including No. 8-ranked Karrie Webb of the United States. The top-ranked amateur, Alexis Thompson of the U.S., also is competing. Laura Davies is the defending champion.
