COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Four members of the Texas A&M soccer team were called up for the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team training camp in Sunrise, Fla., this week until March 14.

Juniors Rachel Shipley, Whitney Hooper and Kristin Arnold and sophomore Bri Young were four of the 24 top players in the college game that convened at the training camp with U-23 WNT head coach Bill Irwin.

"Each of our players have proven to be big-time performers on the national scene with the Aggies, so it's fitting that they now get the opportunity to showcase their abilities in the international arena," A&M head coach G Guerrieri said.

Texas A&M is one of only two programs in the country to have four players called to this training camp. In fact, this is the first time the Aggies have had more than three players at a national team camp at one time. In addition, there are 10 current A&M soccer players who earned call-ups to a U.S. Women's National Team in the past.

The Aggie soccer team reached the NCAA Tournament for the 15th straight season in 2009, advancing to the Sweet 16 for the 10th time in program history. They have reached the NCAA Championship more than any program in the Big 12 and were the only team (men's or women's soccer) in the state of Texas to receive a tournament berth last season.

A&M is 6-0 this spring and returns to the pitch on Saturday, March 27, for two matches at the Aggie Soccer Stadium. Kickoff with Baylor is set for 4 p.m. and game time against Marquette is at 7 p.m. Admission is free of charge for all spring matches.
