The Texas A&M men's golf team will face a strong field at the Linger Longer Invitational Friday through Sunday at The Landing at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga.
In addition to the Aggies, the field includes No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 8 Florida State, No. 18 Georgia, No. 20 Georgia Tech and No. 22 Alabama, as well as Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Mercer, Oklahoma, San Jose State, South Alabama and South Carolina-Aiken.
“Reynolds Landing is a terrific course and this field is really strong,” Aggie men's golf coach J.T. Higgins said. “It is our first time to play in this event so we are going to have to learn the course quickly if we want to compete. On the flip side, it sets up very well for us and we are playing pretty well right now. We are looking forward to the challenge.”
The Aggies will be getting back to stroke play after placing fourth at the Callaway Match Play Championships in Marana, Ariz., earlier this week. A&M beat host Arizona and UNLV before falling to eventual champion New Mexico in the semis and USC in the third-place match.
A&M will take a lineup of senior Andrea Pavan, freshman Cameron Peck, sophomore Jordan Russell, junior Nacho Elvira and junior Conrad Shindler.
