COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 18 Texas A&M softball team heads to Nebraska this weekend for a pair of Big 12 road games against the Huskers. Due to a forecast of inclement weather on Friday, the two teams play a doubleheader on Saturday that begins at 2 p.m.
The Aggies (29-8, 2-1 Big 12) enter the twin bill after dropping a 3-2, 10-inning heart-breaker to 24th-ranked Baylor on Wednesday. Freshman Rhi Kliesing holds a .371 average with seven home runs and 33 RBIs, while senior Alex Reynolds is hitting .359 with 11 doubles and 26 RBIs.

ON DECK
After three straight Big 12 away games, the Aggies return home for five in-a-row at the Aggie Softball Complex. The five-game stretch begins with Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday and No. 17 Texas on Wednesday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies carried a 2-0 lead into the seventh against the Bears, but a two-run double by Courtney Nieten in the bottom of the inning evened the game and forced extra innings. The international tiebreaker rule went into effect in the 10th inning and after A&M was held scoreless in the top of the frame, BU's Dani Leal scored the game-winning run on a two-out wild pitch.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
The Huskers (20-16, 0-2 Big 12) are in ninth place in the Big 12 after dropping their first two conference games at then-No. 15 Texas last weekend. Saturday's loss was a 9-0 run rule, while Sunday was a tighter game, 4-1. The team is hitting .292 with 24 home runs and 152 RBIs, while the pitching staff has a 2.93 ERA and 273 K's in 234 innings pitched. NU's three pitchers average the most walks in the league, but also the most strikeouts per seven innings. The team ranks eighth in the Big 12 with a .958 fielding percentage.
Heidi Foland leads the Huskers with a .392 batting average, 47 hits and 10 home runs. She is followed by Ashley Guile (.379) who has a team-high 10 doubles and 28 RBIs. Nikki Haget (.350) has the most stolen bases with 10-of-14. Julie Brechtel (.352) and Brook Thomason (.348) are the other two players hitting above .500.
In the circle, Robin Mackin and Ashley Hagemann have split time evenly. Mackin is 8-8 with a 2.07 ERA. She adds 110 strikeouts in 101.1 innings pitched. Hagemann is 9-8 with a 3.42 ERA and 138 K's in 106.1 innings of work.
VERSUS THE HUSKERS
Texas A&M leads the all-time series 32-23 after splitting with Nebraska last year in College Station. The Aggies came from behind and took the first game, 2-1, before falling, 3-2, in nine innings in the second contest. A&M has won nine of the last 11 meetings, including winning both games the last time the two teams faced each other in Lincoln, Neb.
THE LAST MEETING – A&M vs. NU – March 22-23, 2009
Kliesing threw a one-hitter in what was the Big 12 opener last year to shut down the Husker offense and snap their six-game winning streak. The Aggies came from behind to score the game-winning run on a two-out, bases-loaded walk by Macie Morrow lined an RBI single to center to bring the Aggies within one, but she was left in scoring position after groundout and a pop fly left the Aggies one run short.
HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE
The Huskers are 7-1 at home this season and that's not the only team in the Big 12 who is a tough task to beat on their home field. Big 12 teams are 109-13 when playing at home this year, meaning teams have won 89.4 percent of games played on their home field.
MAY IN THE RECORD BOOK
May has already written her name in the top 10 of many season records, including home runs (tied for 3rd with Selena Collins), RBIs (4th), walks (6th), and doubles (tied for 7th). She is a home run away from moving into the top 10 for career home runs.
AGGIES IN EXTRA INNINGS
Texas A&M has had five contests go to extra innings this season with its longest (10 innings) coming against Baylor on March 31. The Aggies post a 3-2 record in extra-inning games, but have outscored their opponents 8-5 overall and 5-0 in the ninth frame. Arbino posts a 3-1 record past the seventh, while Kliesing is 0-1.
