SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Texas A&M women's basketball signee Karla Gilbert (College Station, Texas) registered seven points and a team-leading seven rebounds in the 2010 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) High School All-America Game held Saturday night at the Alamodome, site of the 2010 NCAA Women's Final Four.

Gilbert, a 6-foot-5 center out of A&M Consolidated High School, was a member of the White Team which lost to the Red Team, 101-81.

"It's quite an honor," said Gilbert on being selected to participate in the WBCA All-America Game and McDonald's High School All-American Game on Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio. "I'm ready to play at the next level. I could have come out a little better in the first half, but I was pretty satisfied with what I did towards the end of the game tonight. I'm very excited to be an Aggie. Right now, I'm trying to do my very best to prepare for next season and provide whatever the team needs from me."

A McDonald's High School All-American and PARADE All-America Second Team selection, Gilbert was the No. 9 overall prospect in the Class of 2010 and No. 1 post player in the country by ESPN HoopGurlz.
