COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Head Coach Mark Turgeon and the 2009-10 Texas A&M basketball team was honored with a celebration banquet at Reed Arena on Sunday. The Aggies, one of only two schools in the country to win at least one NCAA Post-Season Tournament game in the past five years (the other is Pittsburgh), went 24-10 and reached the second round of the NCAA Championships against the 6th-toughest schedule in the country. The team finished 11-5 in the Big 12 Conference, toughest league in the land, tying for second place.

Texas A&M University President Bowen Loftin introduced Coach Turgeon to the crowd and Coach Turgeon received a standing ovation from the crowd.

This group of seniors became the winningest class in Texas A&M history posting 100 victories during their tenure and led the Aggies to their fifth consecutive NCAA berth. This past season, the Aggies broke the single-game attendance record at Reed Arena three times and set the bar at 13,717 for the Texas game (Feb. 27).

Coach Turgeon presented a Reed Rowdy Award to Matt Bates for his outstanding work in promoting Aggie basketball, especially to the students in Aggieland.
