IRVING, Texas - Four members of the Texas A&M men's and women's golf teams were named to the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 Golf Team, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Earning first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors, which requires a 3.2 or higher grade point average, was the defending women's Big 12 individual champion Ashley Freeman. Freeman, a senior from Belleville, Ill., is pursuing a master's degree in accounting.
Earning second-team honors (requires 3.0-3.19 GPA) were three members of the Texas A&M men's team - senior Andrea Pavan (Rome, Italy) in economics, junior Nacho Elvira (Santander, Spain) in economics, and junior Conrad Shindler (Coppell, Texas) in University Studies/Leadership.
Both A&M squads will be competing at their respective Big 12 Championships April 23-25. The Aggie men will compete at the Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas, while the women's team will be at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
