The No. 24 Texas A&M women's golf team moved back into the title hunt with the low round of the day on Saturday at the 2010 Big 12 Championships at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.

The Aggies carded a seven-over par 295 to move into a tie for third in the team standing, and go into Sunday's final round trailing Oklahoma State by 11 strokes and second place Texas by a single shot. OSU leads the way at 13-over and are being chased by Texas (+23), Texas A&M (+24), Kansas State (+24), Iowa State (+29), Colorado (+30), Texas Tech (+33), Missouri (+36), Baylor (+37), Nebraska (+38), Oklahoma (+45) and Kansas (+50).

“This was a much better day for the Aggies,” Aggie women's golf coach Trelle McCombs said. “It's always nice to put up the low round of the day. The conditions were tough, lots of wind. The girls are proud of themselves for getting back into contention. It will be a dogfight out there (on Sunday). I'm proud of the way we played our back. Any time you can come in under par when the conditions are worse shows me that this team has a lot of heart.”

Junior Julia Boland was the biggest mover for the Aggies, jumping 21 spots to a tie for 14th after shooting a one-over 73 and is seven-over after two rounds (78-73=151). Senior Ashley Freeman jumped 14 spots to a tie for 14th with a second-round 74 and is seven-over (77-74=151). Freshman Sarah Beth Davis jumped 13 spots into a tie for 30th with a 75 (+10, 79-75=154). Freshman Chloe Garner turned in an 82 and is in 46th place at 14-over (76-82=158).

The Aggies will be paired with OSU and Texas in the final round, and will begin teeing off at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday from the first hole.
