COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 20 Texas A&M softball team claimed the No. 3 seed in the Big 12 Championship this weekend, May 14-16, at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Aggies, who were picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll, swept No. 11 Oklahoma State on the road last weekend to finish 12-6 through Big 12 play and secure the No. 3 seed.

In its first game of the Big 12 Championship, A&M faces No. 6-seed Nebraska at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the alternate field.

Texas received the top seed at this year's championship after going 14-2 in league play and Oklahoma (13-3) secured the No. 2 seed. Oklahoma State (12-6) was placed as the No. 4 seed, followed by Missouri (11-7) and Nebraska. Texas Tech earned the No. 7 seed, while Baylor received the No. 8 seed and Iowa State and Kansas accepted the No. 9 and No. 10 seeds, respectively.
